Art Textiles: Made in Britain

Art Textiles: Made in Britain comprises of Bethan Ash, Louise Baldwin, Jessica Grady, Cas Holmes, Rosie James, Edwina Mackinnon, Sandra Meech, Sylvia Paul, Stephanie Redfern, Christine Restall, and Sarah Waters, some of the leading textile artists working in Britain today.
Our aim is to promote British art textiles and to ensure their future; to introduce them to new audiences and to continually stretch the boundaries with new, vibrant work, both as individuals and as a group.
Every two years we mount a brand new themed exhibition of work, and since 2014 this new exhibition has premiered at the Festival of Quilts, Birmingham, UK, before touring to several venues around the UK.
Due to the unusual circumstances in 2020 the Festival of Quilts was cancelled, so we successfully exhibited our new show Found there in 2021.
Images of the gallery can be found on the GROUP EXHIBITIONS page.
On this page you can also see images of our shows Wild 2018, Concealed 2016, and Identity 2014.
In our THE ARTISTS section you can also see images of all our members' work, and information and contact details about each artist.
Sarah Waters is our latest member, having been invited to join us permanently after having being chosen as our guest artist for our new Found exhibition.
Most of our members teach workshops and courses throughout the year, and take part in exhibitions. Why not take a look at their websites and blogs to see what is coming up; the links are in the Artists section on this website.
We sadly lost one of our founding members, the lovely Ineke Berlyn in February 2017. She was much loved and admired, and such a positive and life enhancing person throughout her illness. There is a selection of her work in our THE ARTISTS section, and in our group exhibitions section.
Don’t forget that you can keep up with us on Instagram and Facebook
We are an exhibiting group of professional artists and currently are unfortunately not open to new members unless stated. We are also, as a group, unable to offer opinions on work or offer mentoring.
